Digital X-Rays

The dental field is quickly embracing digital x-rays due to their many advantages. Dentists can now take images of teeth and easily input them into an imaging program. This program provides various tools that allow dentists to closely analyze teeth and surrounding structures with exceptional accuracy. Moreover, digital x-rays are highly beneficial for patients as they expose them to almost 80% less radiation than traditional x-rays. This reduced radiation exposure is achievable because digital x-rays are more radiation-sensitive and have been specifically designed with patient safety as a top priority.

How A Digital Dental X-Ray Works

Using a compact radiographic camera, slightly larger than a pen, we can easily capture images of each tooth, replacing traditional film used in regular X-rays. This advanced technology eliminates the need for chemical development or processing of images. Instead, the images are instantly displayed on a computer screen as soon as each scan is completed, allowing providers and patients to view them within minutes. By adjusting the angle of the imaging wand, the provider can capture every aspect of each tooth, providing immediate results and eliminating any waiting time.

Benefits Of Digital X-Rays

  • Exposes the patient to much less radiation than traditional X-rays
  • Our advanced imaging technology provides superior and dependable results, allowing our skilled provider to quickly identify any abnormalities in teeth, gums, enamel, as well as tumors, cavities, and concealed dental structures.
  • The gray-scale resolution of 256 colors is superior to the 16 to 25 shades found on traditional film, enabling a more precise and accurate analysis.
  • The message can be rewritten as: "Images are promptly sent to a monitor for the provider to review and explain to the patient."
  • Images can be enlarged, adjusted, and saved for future reference
  • Enables the digital comparison of your X-rays with each other
  • Reduction of waste and other harmful chemicals
